How can projects help my students meet standards and develop 21st century skills?

  1. Projects are a way to provide an ongoing learning process for students. As they move through the phases of activities, they build on prior knowledge to create a finished product. Additionally, when the projects incorporate technology, students learn to communicate effectively in a variety of situations, from the personal to the professional. They communicate in a variety of modes, written, spoken and a combination of the two in an electronic mode, such as blogging, web pages, forums and the use of web-cams for real-time face to face chat.
